Towne Lake Recreation Area, a 300-acre park located on Wilson Creek Parkway just south of the city, includes a 22-acre lake, paddle boats, fishing pier, concessions, picnic areas, sand volleyball, horseshoe pits, lighted hike and bike trails, playgrounds and a nature trail. Erwin park, located northwest of town is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Texas scenery. Camping for youth groups is also available at this 212-acre oasis, along with a 7.8 mile mountain bike trail. McKinney hosts a variety of annual running, biking, and sporting events. Our championship golf courses attract players of all levels. The Community Center offers a variety of intramural and sports-related activities. Nearby Lake Lavon provides plenty of activities for water buffs and anglers. Kick up your heels at our beautiful 94-acre soccer complex.
